x racing kicks off r/superkarting — a BRAND NEW WORLDWIDE COMMUNITY FOR SUPERKARTERS NEW AND EXPERIENCED

If you've ever tried to find a decent online space specifically for Superkarting, whether it’s because you’re just getting started or you’re looking for some new ideas… Well, you already know the problem. Information is scattered and few-and-far between in the dark corners of popular Karting threads. If not buried inside broad motorsport forums, they’re behind closed doors in private club chats. The community, despite being full of insanely knowledgeable and some of the most passionate race teams in history, has never really had a hub of its own on the internet.

X Racing knows your struggle, and today, we change this!

X Racing has launched r/superkarting on Reddit: a worldwide community dedicated to anyone who races, is thinking about racing, or is simply trying to understand what Superkarting actually involves, and what it takes to get on track.

X Le (X Racing Founder) explains further down below.

X-LOG: “OKay, but… Why reddit?”

Yeah, yeah, I’m getting to that. Here’s the thing, and I’m going to put my marketing brain on for this one, because the marketing (or lack thereof) of our sport is really all it comes down to.

Superkarting is a niche within a niche. It's not the karting everyone thinks about- Not the arrive-and-drive hire karts or the Sprint Karts capped at 100mph... It's a blend of karting and cars that nobody really things about, proving real speeds and real handling at just a couple of inches off the ground. For anyone trying to break into it (and trust me, I’ve BEEN there), or even people just trying to research it, important information that could be used to convert people into the sport or even just generate interest in watching it has been living in the heads of people already in the paddock, which is not super accessible to someone starting from zero.

Have you ever been looking for real-world knowledge and applications to an issue you’re facing? Ever gone to Google? Cool. So then, have you ever gone to google and added ‘Reddit’ onto the end of your question? Then you already know- Reddit is the internet’s HUB for genuine community and knowledge-sharing. It's easily searchable and the information never ends, because a question answered today becomes a resource for the next person who searches the same thing in six months, or ten months, hell, in ten years.

For a sport like superkarting, that kind of searchable and active archive is exactly what is missing and exactly what I would have thrived in when I had first started from scratch in motorsports.

Whether you're…

  • A complete beginner wondering if Superkarting is even accessible for you,

  • A karter looking to step up from Sprints,

  • An experienced pilot wanting to chat setup, regulations, or just your general love for the sport,

  • Or someone who just wants to watch the sport and understand what they're seeing…

Now there's a place for you and thousands of others to get involved!

No question is too basic, because the goal is a space where the knowledge held by experienced racers actually reaches the rookies who need it.

I crave a wider community where newcomers aren't made to feel like they have to earn the right to ask how to get faster, and thankfully, while I found that community in the QLD Superkart Club, I know that not everyone will be as lucky as me to have found a family so welcoming in this sport. X Racing was founded because I wanted people to know that the starting line is closer than it seems, and that the gap between "I want to do that," and actually doing it is made of information and community more than raw talent or funding.

When I entered the motorsporting world, that gap was a huge reality check for me. Piecing together how Superkarting works, what licensing looks like, the politics of motorsports, what a competitive program actually costs, and even just what to expect in your first season… I had no where to turn except for my new friends already racing on my grid, and even then, you never want to be that one person always asking questions that ‘seem simple’ to experienced teams who’re meant to be competing against you. It was paddock conversations and a lot of trial and error that got me here today, but I figure it doesn’t have to be that hard for anyone else.

So… To put it simply, r/superkarting exists because no one starting from nothing should have to claw their way to the starting line when there's a whole community of people who've already crossed it, including myself!

“Community is only as good as the people in it.” So click through and join r/superkarting on Reddit →
